NASA Science Activation Program: F.6 SciAct Updates and Opportunities (2026)

Want to get involved with NASA science? The Science Mission Directorate's Science Activation Program is your gateway! This initiative, supported by a network of collaborative project teams, invites everyone to dive into the world of science using NASA's incredible resources.

The Science Activation program element, known as F.6 SciAct, is part of ROSES-25. It's designed to fund a variety of projects that span the entire spectrum of NASA's scientific disciplines. These projects aren't just limited to a specific area; they operate across all 50 states, plus U.S. territories, and aim to reach people of all ages and backgrounds. They also involve both formal and informal learning organizations, as well as community partners, to broaden their reach and impact.

NASA is looking for a balance in these projects. This means they want to see a mix of projects that:

  1. Broadly share resources and opportunities that use NASA's assets.
  2. Address the specific needs of communities, whether geographically-based or interest-based, by leveraging NASA's assets.

Heads up! Minor corrections have been made to Section 3.3.1 and Table F.6-3 of ROSES-25 F.6 Science Activation. The due dates for proposals remain unchanged. Notices of intent to propose are due by January 26, 2026, and proposals are due by March 31, 2026. Additionally, Preproposal Webinar Slides and a SciAct FAQ have been posted under other documents on the NSPIRES page for F.6 SciAct.
